Saransh Garg Foundation

You’ll find our foundation in the village of Takarla Bela, which is in the Una district. We run things from Suresh Kumar’s house. It’s a local foundation and we don't try to be anything else. We aren't some big group with offices in the city. We are from right here. We started the Saransh Garg Foundation because we wanted to help our own people. Sometimes we take on small tasks and sometimes we try bigger projects, but it’s always about the community in Una. We don't have a lot of corporate rules or a big hierarchy. It’s mostly just Suresh and a few of us who want to be useful. Our office is a simple room with the basic things we need. We don't spend our money on fancy furniture or big signs. We prefer to spend our time talking to people and seeing what they need. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know the local problems. We try to be a support for anyone who needs it. It’s not always easy and we don't have everything figured out. But we show up every day. We don't have a marketing plan or a PR team. Most people know us because they’ve seen us around for years. We like the quiet life in Takarla Bela. We are just happy to be doing our small bit for the village. It’s honest and it’s home for us. We just keep working away at it one day at a time.
