Being right near the bus stand on Dharamshala Road means there is always something going on outside our door. We are located right there with the Fortis Hospital, so the area stays pretty busy from morning until late at night. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all day long, and there are always people walking back and forth on the sidewalk. Inside, we just try to stay organized amidst all that activity. It’s a small space, really, but it serves its purpose for what we do every day. We’ve gotten used to the constant hum of the city right outside. Most of us take our lunch breaks sitting somewhere nearby where we can watch the crowds. It’s a convenient spot because almost everyone knows where the hospital and the bus stand are located. We don’t bother with anything flashy. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it doesn’t stop us from getting the work done. We deal with a lot of different people coming through, some regulars and some just passing through town. It’s a lot of standing and talking, then sitting back down to update the records. By the time evening rolls around and the traffic thins out a bit, we’re usually just finishing up the last bits of paperwork. It’s a tired kind of feeling but a good one.
