Up here in Palampur, things move a bit slower than they do in the big cities. We are based out of Upper Sihotu village, and if you are looking for us, you should probably ask for Sh. Kishori Lal’s place because that is how most folks around here know the location. Our office for Quippo Infrastructre Equpment Ltd is tucked away in a spot that gets plenty of fresh air but can be a real pain to get to when the weather turns bad in the mountains. The post comes through Atyala Dai, and sometimes the mailman takes his time if there is heavy rain or snow further up the range. It is a quiet area, mostly just local families and some small farms around us. Inside the office, it is pretty basic. We have some old desks and a couple of computers that work alright when the power stays on. We handle a lot of the equipment stuff for the region, so there is usually a lot of talk about logistics and transport schedules over the phone. It gets cold in the winter, so we usually have a small heater going and keep plenty of wool blankets around. We don't have a big lobby or a receptionist; if someone walks in, they usually just shout hello until one of us comes out from the back room. It is a practical way to run things, and it works just fine for us out here.
