Prem General Store

Up here in Village Kakkar, Prem General Store is a bit of a local community hub for everyone. We’re located right near the bus stop, which is where most of the daily action happens in our small village. If you’re coming from the Tehsil Bhoranj area or passing through near the Chandruhi Post Office, you’ll probably see our sign. We carry all the basic stuff that everyone in the village needs for their homes. It’s a small shop, and sometimes we run out of specific things if the supply truck from the city is running late, but that's just how life is in the hills. We know almost everyone who walks through our door by their first name. It’s more than just a store to us; it’s a place where people catch up on the local news while they buy their tea, sugar, or flour. The pace of life is slow here, and we honestly like it that way. We don't have a computer or any fancy gadgets to track our sales. It’s all done the old way with a pen and a simple paper notebook. When the local bus pulls in, we usually get a little rush of people for ten minutes, and then it goes back to being quiet again. We’ve been at this same spot for as long as I can remember. The building is sturdy but it definitely shows its age. We don't feel the need to renovate or change things just for the sake of it.
