Jsk Aluminium is based up here in Dharamshala, in the Kangra district. The views are nice, but we are mostly looking at metal all day. Being in the hills makes some things harder, like getting trucks in when the roads are narrow or if there’s been a bit of weather. Our place is just a regular building where we handle the business side of things. It can get quite cold in the winter months, so we are usually wrapped up in sweaters while we work. We aren't a massive factory with thousands of people, just a local team getting through the orders. Most of us have lived in Himachal our whole lives. We know the area well. The office is often a bit messy with samples of aluminium bits and pieces lying on the tables. We don’t spend much on decorating because we are just here to work. If you come by, you might find us having a quick lunch break or arguing about which road is blocked today. It’s a steady job and we like the location despite the steep hills. Sometimes the internet is slow, but we make do with what we have. It’s just us doing our bit in the Kangra valley, keeping the paperwork straight and the orders moving along. We try to finish up before the sun goes down behind the mountains. It's a simple operation, really.
