Setting up in Main Bazar Banikhet was a choice made because it is central for people coming from all over Distt Chamba. We are right near Dalhousie, so we get a lot of students who are looking to move away for their studies. It is a small office, nothing like what you would see in a big city like Delhi. We have some desks, a few chairs for parents to sit on, and stacks of brochures about universities in other countries. The weather in Himachal Pradesh can be tricky, so some days it is very quiet if it is snowing or raining hard. We spend most of the day explaining the same forms over and over again. It is honest work, helping local kids figure out how to get their visas or where to stay once they leave the hills. We are at 176303, and locals usually just walk in when they are doing their grocery shopping in the bazaar. It is not a high-pressure environment. We just talk to people, tell them what we know, and try to make the whole process a bit less confusing for them. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit and chat until it comes back on. It is just how things go up here. We have been here long enough that most people in the market know who we are.
