In the town of Chamba, up in Himachal Pradesh, Dfl sits in a spot that has some pretty good views of the surrounding hills. The air is a lot thinner and cooler here than it is down in the plains. Our building is simple and fits in with the rest of the town. We have a few rooms that we use for our daily tasks and it can get quite cold in the winter, so we have a couple of small heaters that we keep under the desks. People around here mostly walk or use small bikes because the roads are narrow and winding. The address is 176 325 and it is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just dealing with the paperwork that comes in through the post. It is a slow pace of life compared to the big cities like Delhi or Mumbai. Sometimes when it snows, we have a hard time getting the door open in the morning. We have some old wooden furniture that has been around for years and a small kitchen area where we can boil water for coffee. It is not a high-tech office by any means, but it works for what we need to do every day. We usually close up early when the sun starts to go down behind the mountains because the temperature drops very fast.
