Devbhumi Gau Raksha Foundation

This foundation is located in Amb, over in the Una district. We operate out of Pramila Devi’s place, which gives it a very local, community feel. Devbhumi Gau Raksha Foundation isn't some massive organization with a board of directors in suits. It’s just a group of us who care about the animals in our area. We spend most of our time out in the village or at the office, just dealing with whatever comes up that day. Una gets quite hot in the summer, which makes the work a bit tiring, but that’s just how it is here. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment or a high-tech setup. It’s mostly just hard work and talking to the people in the V.P.O. area to get things moving. We try to keep our records straight and make sure we’re doing what needs to be done. Sometimes we have to travel a bit around the district, but we always come back to our base here. It’s a simple life, and the work isn't always easy, but it feels right for us. We don’t go around making big promises; we just show up and do the tasks that are in front of us. If you’re ever passing through Amb, you might see us around. It’s a small town, and everyone pretty much knows everyone else’s business anyway. We just keep our heads down and do what is needed for the day.
