Nungshi Charitable Foundation

Our location is in Kumbi Khaidem Leikai, which is part of the Bishnupur district. We are based at Rorrkychand’s place. It is a very quiet area, mostly surrounded by greenery and local houses. The foundation is a small setup. We don't have a lot of money to spend on things like advertising or a fancy office space. We just have a simple room with a couple of tables and chairs where we do all our planning. Most of our work involves helping out people in the Kumbi area who are going through a hard time. We listen to their stories and see what we can do to make things a little easier for them. It is not a job that makes us rich, but it keeps us very busy. The roof is made of tin, so when it rains, we have to talk quite loudly to hear each other. We keep our records by hand in big books because that is what we are used to. It is a very hands-on way of doing things. We aren't experts in everything, but we know the people in Bishnupur and we know what they need. We just try to be honest and do what we can with the little we have. It’s a simple life and we are happy to be working here in our own community.
