Chakpi Organic Producer Company Limited

Our company is tucked away in Kwakeithel Awang Thiyam Leikai, right in Imphal West. We use the space at The Green Foundation to run our operations. Chakpi is the name we chose because it ties us to the local area. We are all farmers here, mostly dealing with organic vegetables and grains. It’s not a fancy life. We get up early, head to the fields, and then deal with the company business in the afternoons. Being a producer company means we all own a little bit of the thing. We don't have a boss in a suit. We just have meetings where everyone has a say, which can take a long time sometimes because farmers like to talk. Our address is a bit specific with all the numbers like 17-A-16/3, but it’s just a regular spot in the Leikai. We try to keep things simple. We don't use flashy advertisements or anything. Most people know us by word of mouth or by seeing our crates around. The goal was always to just help each other out with seeds and getting the crops to the market without getting cheated by middle men. It’s hard work, especially keeping everything organic when the pests come around, but we find ways to deal with it naturally. If you’re in Imphal, that’s where you will find us.
