Godrej Plant Biotech Ltd.

Our place, Godrej Plant Biotech Ltd., is situated at 148/B in Kandlakoi Village. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but it is nice being away from the main city noise. We work with plants and biology. Most of our time is spent in the green areas or the small lab space we have set up. It is not like a big corporate office where everyone wears suits. We usually have dirt on our shoes and we spend a lot of time bending over rows of seedlings. We look at how things grow and try to make sure they are healthy. Some days we are just moving pots around or checking the irrigation pipes for leaks. It is slow work because you can't rush a plant. We have some local workers from the village who help us out with the heavy lifting and the planting. The weather really dictates what we do. If it rains too much, we are stuck inside doing notes. If it is too hot, we have to stay on top of the watering. We just want to produce good plants that people can use. There are no fancy speeches here, just people who know about soil and seeds. We have a small kettle for making coffee and we take breaks when we can. It is a quiet, steady kind of life here in Kandlakoi.
