S. K. Roy Hardware Store

S. K. Roy Hardware Store is located in the Villpostp.S.- Kandi area, right near the Kandi police station in Murshidabad. Being so close to the station makes it easy for people to find us when they are coming into town. We keep a lot of different things in stock, from basic tools to building supplies that the local folks need for their houses. It’s a bit of a cluttered shop, but we usually know exactly where everything is kept, even if it looks like a bit of a mess to someone else. The store has been part of the village life for a while, and we see the same faces coming in week after week. We aren't looking to be some giant retail chain; we just want to have what the neighbors need so they don't have to travel too far. Sometimes we sit outside on the bench when things are quiet and watch the people go by. It’s a simple way of living and working. We don't have fancy signs or big advertisements; we just rely on people knowing that we are here and that we have the hardware they are looking for. Murshidabad can get pretty humid, but the shop stays relatively cool under the shade. We just do our best to help out with whatever project someone is trying to finish up at home or on the farm.
