Mahadevilaxmi Trading Private Limited is situated over in Jashohari, right near the Kali Mandir in Kandi. It’s a place that most people around here can find pretty easily because of the temple landmark. We share the space with Prasanta Kumar Dutta, and it’s a very local, down-to-earth kind of operation. Trading is basically what we do from morning until evening, dealing with different goods and making sure the inventory is where it’s supposed to be. Living and working so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the morning prayers, which gives the day a nice rhythm. Kandi is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else's business, and we like it that way. It keeps us accountable. We don’t have a big marketing department or anyone to write fancy slogans for us. Usually, it’s just us handling the phones and talking to the folks who come by the office. Sometimes the trucks have a hard time getting through the narrow lanes when it’s busy, but we’ve learned to work around that over the years. We’ve got a small team, and we all wear many hats. One minute you might be checking a ledger, and the next you’re helping unload a delivery. It’s just how things are done here in our part of the world. We don’t try to be anything we’re not, just a hard-working trading company in a quiet village.
