We operate out of Girjar More in the Khagra area of Berhampore. Most of our work happens out on the building sites, so the office here is mostly for keeping the tools and some of the paperwork. We do construction work around the Murshidabad district, mostly small houses and local renovations. It’s a tough job, and we’re usually out early in the morning before the sun gets too hot. Our crew is made up of guys from the local villages who know how to work hard. We don't have a big fleet of fancy trucks or shiny equipment. Most of our gear has seen a lot of use, but it gets the job done. Building things takes time and there are always delays with rain or getting materials delivered to the site. We just take it day by day. If you come by the office and nobody is there, it's because we're out at a job site. We don't have a secretary or a formal reception. Usually, people just find me on my mobile or come by in the evening when we're packing up. We aren't architects or big-city developers. We're just builders who know how to lay bricks and mix cement. It’s honest work, and we like seeing a project finally finished after weeks of digging and lifting. That’s about all there is to J. M. Construction. We just keep our heads down and build.
