Our company, Suchi Prabha Spices, is based out in Kusanga village. We are right near the Harabhanga Gram Panchayat Office, which is a landmark most people in the tehsil know. Working in a village means things move at a different pace. We buy spices from the local growers and then we process them right here. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place to keep the rain off the stock. We have a few machines for cleaning and drying the seeds before they get packed up. There's always someone coming or going, usually on a tractor or a cycle. We don't have a marketing department; we just talk to the shopkeepers in the nearby towns. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for it to come back to finish the grinding. That’s just life in Kusanga. We focus on making sure the spices are clean and dry so they don't spoil. It's a lot of manual labor, lifting bags and sorting through piles of raw materials. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make spices and sell them to whoever needs them. The office part of the building is just a small room with a desk and a few chairs for when visitors come. It’s a practical setup that works for us and the people we serve in the district.
