Universal Granites

You’ll find Universal Granites at 144, 2nd Avenue in Vettuvankeni. We are quite close to the coast, so we get that salty breeze every now and then. Our yard is usually full of slabs, and there is always the sound of cutting or polishing in the background. It’s a manual job, and we don't mind getting a bit of dust on our clothes. Most of the guys here have been working with granite since they were young. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and mirrors. We just show you the stone as it is, under the natural light. We think that’s the best way to see it anyway. Running a business like this means dealing with heavy machinery and heavy materials every single day. It isn't always easy, and sometimes things go wrong, but we just fix it and keep going. We don't spend money on big ads or marketing people. Most of our customers are locals or people who heard about us from a friend. We just try to provide what people need without any extra drama. The office is just a small room where we keep the books and take calls. It’s a basic setup for a basic, honest business that relies on real work.
