Tharun Lathe Work

The shop is located at 14-88 on Chengalpattu Road in Palayoor, and it has stayed pretty much the same for years. We do lathe work, which means a lot of time spent standing on our feet watching metal spin. It is noisy and messy, but it is what we do. The road outside is usually busy with trucks and buses passing through Palayoor, so there is always a layer of dust that finds its way inside. We have a couple of lathes that have seen better days, but they still run fine if you know their little quirks and how to handle them. There is no air conditioning here, just the breeze coming through the open front, which helps a bit when the sun is high. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are and what we do. Usually, someone drops off a part that needs fixing or a custom piece of work, and we get to it when the current job is done. The floor is stained with oil and there are metal shavings in every corner, no matter how much we sweep. It’s a simple setup for simple work. We don't spend money on fancy signs or decorations because they don't help the machines run any better. It’s just us here from morning until the sun goes down, making sure things are turned and cut properly for whoever needs it.
