We are located at 68 Kundrathur High Road in Porur. It’s a part of Chennai that really feels the heat in the summer. At Tannex Leather Pvt Ltd, the smell of leather is something you just get used to after the first ten minutes. It’s everywhere. We have a lot of hides moving in and out of the building throughout the week. The floor is usually busy with people cutting, sorting, or checking the finish on the pieces. It’s not a quiet office job. There is a lot of physical work involved, and we all pitch in when a big load arrives. Porur is a busy area, and the road outside is almost always blocked with traffic, especially near the signals. We’ve been here for a long time, watching the city grow around our little corner. Most of the staff live nearby, so we’re a local bunch. We don’t have much time for fancy meetings. We just look at the leather, see what’s good, and process it. Sometimes the machinery acts up and we have to fix it ourselves. It’s a hands-on type of business. We focus on the day-to-day stuff like inventory and shipping schedules. It gets tiring when the humidity is high, but we just keep at it until the work is finished. It’s a plain, hardworking environment and that suits us just fine. We just handle the leather and try to get it right every time.
