We’ve got a spot here on 26th Street in Alapakkam, over in Chennai. It’s quite different from being in the middle of the city. The heat can be something else, so we keep the windows shut and the AC running as much as possible. This office for Sobha Developers Limited is where we handle a lot of the local logistics. We spend our days coordinating with contractors and checking on how the projects are moving along. Sometimes the rain makes things difficult and we all just sit around drinking tea and waiting for it to clear up so we can get back to work. There’s no big corporate vibe here. It’s more like a group of people who have a job to do and want to do it right without making a big deal out of it. We deal with a lot of paperwork, which can be boring, but it’s necessary. It’s a simple setup that works for the way we operate. No bells or whistles, just a solid place to work every day.
