Jamna Auto Industries Limited

Our place is spread across Plot No. 22 to 25 in the Sengundram Village area, part of the Maraimalai Nagar Industrial Complex. It’s a bit of a trek out to Melrospuram, but we’ve got plenty of space here. Jamna Auto Industries Limited is where we deal with a lot of heavy automotive parts. There’s a lot of heat involved in our process, and the furnaces are almost always running. You can hear the rhythmic thud of the machinery from the parking lot. We work in shifts, so there’s almost always someone here, even late at night. The air feels heavy with the smell of hot metal and industrial lubricants. We spend a lot of time moving heavy stacks of parts around with the forklifts. It’s a big site, so we do a lot of walking from one end to the other just to talk to someone in a different department. We don't use much fancy language; we just talk about specs and production numbers. The break room is always full of people during the shift change, and that’s when it gets the loudest. We keep our boots on the ground and our focus on the tasks at hand. It’s a large operation but it still feels like a community once you’ve been here a few months. We just keep the lines running.
