Simple Women Federation

We are the Simple Women Federation, located at 6/9 Ganapathy Avenue in Gandhi Nagar, Keelkattalai. It’s part of the Kancheepuram area in Tamil Nadu. Our name pretty much describes what we are about. We are a group of women who just want to keep things straightforward. We aren't a big organization with a lot of hierarchy. We just sit around a table and figure out how we can help each other and our neighbors. Our office on Ganapathy Avenue is a simple place where people can come and talk. We don’t have a marketing person to make us look fancy. We’re just local women who have lived here for a long time. We know the issues people face in Gandhi Nagar, and we try to do something about them. Sometimes our meetings are long and a bit disorganized because we all have different ideas. It’s not always a smooth process, but we usually get things done in the end. We don’t use big words or corporate language because that’s not how we talk in real life. We’re just practical and honest about what we can do. Some days we have a lot of energy, and other days it’s a bit of a struggle. That’s just how life is. We’re glad to be a small part of the community in Keelkattalai and we plan to stay here.
