Selvi Leather Works

Selvi Leather Works is located at 12, 5th Street in Malanganathapuram. It’s a quiet enough street, and our workshop is right there in the middle of it. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a scent we’ve grown very fond of over the years. We spend most of our time at the benches, cutting, stitching, and fixing things. It’s physical work that requires a lot of patience and steady hands. We don’t have automated machines doing everything for us. We do it the old way, mostly by hand or with simple tools that have been around forever. Our shop isn't a showroom. It's a working space where there are scraps on the floor and half-finished projects waiting for attention. We don't bother with fancy advertising because word of mouth in Malanganathapuram usually does the job for us. If someone has a bag that needs a new strap or a jacket that’s seen better days, they bring it to us. We take a look, tell them if we can fix it, and then get to work. It’s honest labor. We aren't trying to become a global brand. We just want to make sure the things we work on last a long time. People appreciate that. We like being part of the neighborhood and seeing familiar faces walk through the door of number 12. It’s a good life and we are happy with it.
