Receptionist In Vms Hospital

I work at the front desk of Vms Hospital, which is located at No. 13/6 on Kesevan Street in the Pammal area of Chennai. My desk is usually covered in patient files, appointment books, and a couple of pens that I have to keep track of so they don't go missing. The hospital is in a residential neighborhood called Muthamizh Nagar, so we see a lot of the same local faces coming in for checkups or picking up medicines. It gets quite loud in the mornings when the clinic opens and everyone is trying to register at once. I spend a lot of time answering the phone and telling people where to find the doctor's office or where to wait for their lab results. The tiles on the floor are a bit worn from all the foot traffic over the years, and we have a small fan behind the desk that helps with the Chennai humidity. It’s a busy environment where things are always happening, whether it’s a new patient arriving or a delivery of medical supplies at the side door. We don't have fancy computer systems for everything, so a lot of stuff is still written down in the registers by hand. It’s just a normal community hospital trying to take care of the people who live nearby without any fuss or complicated rules. We try our best to keep the paperwork moving so people aren't waiting too long in the lobby.
