Vembuli Subedar Street. No. 26. This is where we keep the supplies. The smell of chemicals is always there. Not too strong, but you notice it. We have the sprayers and the safety gear. Pest Control (India) is the name on the truck. We spend most of our time out at other people's houses or offices. This place is just our base. Alandur is a busy part of the city. The street is narrow. We have to be careful with the parking. We’ve been here a long time. The office is small. Just a desk and some filing cabinets. We take calls and schedule the routes. It’s a lot of logistics. The guys come in early to load up the gear. We talk about where the bugs are worst this week. It’s not a glamorous job but it needs doing. We see all kinds of places. At the end of the day, we come back here to clean the equipment. It’s a routine. We don’t use big words to describe it. We just kill pests. That is the job. We don't have any fancy brochures or big sales pitches. People just call when they have ants or roaches and we go out to help them. It is what it is. We try to be on time but the Chennai traffic can be really bad sometimes.
