Nd Body Works

You can find Nd Body Works out on Aarambakkam Road, right across from the Jamai Ice Factory in Salamangalam. Being near the ice factory is actually a good landmark because people always know where that is. Our workshop is a big open space where we do all the bodywork on vehicles. It gets pretty hot under the metal roof when the sun is out, but we have a few big fans to keep the air moving. There’s usually the sound of hammering or the hiss of a spray gun going on. We have piles of metal sheets and old bumpers sitting in the corners. It’s messy work, and we all end up with paint or grease on our clothes by noon. We usually have a radio playing in the background, though you can barely hear it over the grinding sounds. We mostly work on local cars and some larger commercial vehicles that get dented or scratched up on the rough roads around here. The road outside can get a bit muddy when it rains, which makes it a bit of a mess to move the cars around. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with a television or anything like that. Customers usually just stand around and chat with us while we look at the damage. We’ve been at this location for a while and the neighbors are all used to the noise we make. It’s just honest work and we take it one vehicle at a time.
