We are over here at P.B. No. 3 on G.S.T. Road in Chromepet. Most people around here just know the building by the gate. It’s been a long time since we first opened up this spot. The air inside always smells a bit different depending on what we are working on that day. Sometimes it is floral and other times it is sharp or woody. Our team mostly consists of folks who have been commuting here for years, catching the train or riding their bikes through the morning traffic. We spend a lot of time in the lab area and out in the back where the big containers are kept. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially in the storage rooms, so we keep the fans going all day. There isn’t much to look at from the outside, just the usual road noise and the gate. Inside, it is all about the mixing and the measuring. We have these heavy logs we keep for the inventory, and everyone has their specific station they have claimed over the years. We do not have fancy lounge areas or anything like that. Just some desks, the equipment, and the break area where we have our tea. It is a steady kind of work. We get the shipments in, we process things, and we get the orders ready for the trucks. It is what keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday, just keeping the rhythm of the place going.
