Larsen & Toubro

I work at the Larsen & Toubro office in Manapakkam. We are located at Plot 979 on Mount Poonamalle High Road. If you know this part of Chennai, you know the traffic is usually quite heavy, especially during the rush hours. I spend a lot of my day here dealing with various engineering and project details. It’s a very large site, and it feels like a small city once you get inside the gates. Even though it is a big company, we mostly just stick to our own teams and our specific tasks. The building is easy to find because it’s a major landmark on the High Road. I usually get in early to beat the worst of the heat and the noise from the street. We have a lot of people working here in different departments, from design to management. My desk is usually covered in papers and notes about whatever project is currently on my plate. We don't really have a lot of time for fancy talk; we just focus on getting the work done according to the plans. The canteen is where most of us catch up over a cup of tea. It’s a steady place to work, and I’ve been here long enough that the commute doesn't bother me much anymore. Most people in the area know the Plot 979 address because it’s been here for so long. We just keep our heads down and work on whatever needs to be finished that day.
