Karanishan Charitable Foundation

We’re located in the Mangadu area, which falls under the Kanchipuram district but is close enough to Chennai that we see a lot of traffic. Our zip code is 600122. We’ve been working out of this spot for a while, trying to help out where the local government might not reach. It’s a small foundation, mostly run by people who live right here in Tamil Nadu. We don’t have a fancy office with glass walls; it’s just a regular room with some desks and a lot of heart. We deal with all sorts of charitable work, depending on what the local community asks for. Sometimes it’s food, sometimes it’s help with school supplies, and other times it’s just giving someone a bit of guidance. We don't spend time on polished speeches or looking for investors. We just use what we have to help the people around Ashtalakshmi Nagar. It’s a bit chaotic at times, especially when a lot of people show up at once, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It feels good to be useful in your own town. We’re just a bunch of locals doing what we can with the resources available to us. It’s honest, simple, and it keeps us busy every single day. We don't mind the long hours when the work is this important.
