Altek Beissel Needles Ltd. is down on Vandalur Road in Kelambakkam, specifically at Plot No. 3/27. It’s a bit of a drive out from the main city center, but we like being out here where there’s a bit more space. The road outside can get quite busy with people heading toward the outskirts, especially on the weekends. Our plot is a long one, and we use every bit of it for the needle production and storage. It’s a very specific kind of work, dealing with things so small and sharp, so we have to keep the floor clean. The weather in Kelambakkam can be pretty brutal when the sun is out, but the building stays relatively cool. We have a few trees near the entrance that give a bit of shade for the workers during their lunch break. Most of our day is spent making sure the machines are running right and checking the stock. It’s not a glamorous job, and the building is just a standard industrial structure with a grey roof. We’ve been at 3/27 Vandalur Road for a good while, and most of the locals know where we are. We don't do a lot of talking or advertising; we just focus on the task at hand and making sure the needles are ready when they need to be for whoever needs them.
