Down here on Arivu Street in Chennai, things stay pretty warm most of the year. Our office at No.3 is where Joy Shipping Services Pvt Ltd operates from. It’s a typical Chennai street, a bit narrow sometimes, but we like being part of the local scene here in 600063. We spend the day dealing with shipping paperwork and talking to people about their cargo. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We have a few desks and a lot of files. The fan stays on pretty much all day because of the heat. Sometimes the power goes out for a bit, and we just take a break until it comes back. We aren't trying to be some big corporate giant; we just handle the shipping stuff that comes our way. The street gets a little noisy with bikes and people walking past, but you get used to it. Most of us have been working together for a long time. We know the neighbors and the shops nearby. When someone needs to send something or get something brought in, they find us here. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just a workspace. We drink a lot of coffee and try to keep the paperwork organized. It’s honest work, and we just take it one day at a time here in Tamil Nadu. We don't use any scripts when we talk to people, we just deal with things as they come.
