Innate Studio

Innate Studio is down at 22/46, 1st Street in Kazura Garden. That’s in the Neelangarai area, right across the road from the Hot Chips restaurant. If you know that part of Chennai, you know it’s got a bit of a coastal vibe. Our studio is a quiet place where we get our creative work done. It’s not a big fancy office with glass walls. It’s more of a converted space that feels comfortable. We have a lot of light coming in, which is good for looking at sketches. Sometimes you can smell the food from Hot Chips across the street, which is both a blessing and a distraction. We spend our days working on different projects, mostly focusing on how to make spaces look natural. There’s no big mission statement here. We just like making things. Neelankarai and Palavakkam are nice areas to work in because it doesn’t feel as cramped as the city center. We’ve got a couple of old desks and some drafting stools that have seen better days. It’s an honest setup. We don't try to impress anyone with a polished image. We just show the work we’ve done and let that be it. Most days it’s just us, some music in the background, and a lot of brainstorming. It’s a simple life for us here at Kazura Garden.
