Hariharan Foundation

We started the Hariharan Foundation here in Chennai a while ago. It's mostly just us working out of the 600069 area, trying to get things done every day. Most mornings start with a lot of tea and looking over the lists of what needs finishing. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a regular space where we meet up. People in the neighborhood know where we are if they need to stop by. Sometimes the traffic in Tamil Nadu makes it hard to get around, but we manage. We handle a lot of the paperwork and the day-to-day stuff that comes with running a foundation. It isn't always exciting work. A lot of it is just making calls and making sure the files are where they should be. We have a few desks and some old chairs. The weather gets really hot here, so the fan is always going. We’ve been at this for some time now. Most of us grew up around here or moved to Chennai years back for work. It feels like home. We don't spend much time on the computer unless we have to. Most of the work is out there, talking to people or checking on projects. We try to keep things simple and not overcomplicate what we are doing. It’s just how we operate. Sometimes things get messy, but we clean it up and keep moving. That’s pretty much the gist of it.
