If you are looking for us, we are at No 118 on L B Road in Thiruvanmiyur. We are right near the EB Office, which is the easiest way to explain where we are. The humidity in Chennai can be really tough on the wood, so we have to be careful with how we store things. The shop stays quite warm throughout the day. We have a lot of basic furniture pieces stacked up, and the smell of polish is usually quite strong. L B Road is a very busy stretch, and the sound of motorcycles is constant. We start our day by sweeping out the dust that blows in from the street. It feels like a never-ending task. There are a few of us here, and we mostly just focus on the orders we have for the week. We don't have a fancy website or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that we have been on this corner for a long time. People stop in when they are heading to the EB office or just walking by. We usually have a few wooden stools sitting out on the sidewalk. It is a bit cramped inside, especially when a new shipment arrives and we have to find a spot for everything. We just take it one day at a time, making sure the furniture is sturdy and the shop stays open. It is honest work and it keeps us busy at Hari Furniture.
