Gowtham Offset Printer is situated at No:14 on Nellukkara Street. If you know the area, we are right opposite the Chitra Kuptar Koil, so it’s easy to find us even when the street gets crowded. The temple bells are something we hear all day long. Inside the shop, there’s always a bit of dust from the paper and that sharp smell of chemicals used for the plates. We’ve got these old machines that have been with us for years, and they still do the job just fine if you treat them right. My father used to say that a printer is only as good as his patience. We do a lot of small jobs for the local community, like notices or pamphlets for events. It’s a tight space with paper piled up in the corners, but we know where everything is. We don't have a fancy reception desk. Usually, someone is just standing near the cutter or the offset press ready to talk. Nellukkara Street is always moving, and we are just one part of that daily rush. Sometimes the humidity makes the paper curl, which is a real pain, but we manage. We just keep our heads down and get the printing done. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we know. We’ve been here long enough that most people recognize us when we’re out getting lunch or grabbing a coffee nearby. We don't change much, just keep the ink flowing and the machines running.
