We are located over at Plot No-F71/72 in the Sipcot Industrial Estate. That is in Irungattukottai, near Sriperumbudur. It is a massive area filled with factories and big sheds. You can hear the sounds of industry from miles away. Our place is where we put together and house a lot of concrete machinery. It is very heavy work. The floors are thick concrete because they have to be. It gets incredibly hot under the metal roof in the summer months. We have big fans going, but they mostly just move the warm air around. There are workers in blue overalls everywhere you look. We move around huge pieces of steel and mixers all day. It is a very busy operation and there is a lot of dust from the surrounding estate. We eat our meals in a simple canteen area. There is no corporate polish here, just a lot of grease, welding sparks, and the sound of heavy engines starting up. We have a lot of trucks coming in and out to pick up the big equipment. The paperwork is usually piled up on the foremen's desks. We’ve been part of this industrial zone for a long time. It’s a tough environment but we are used to it. We just focus on getting the machines built and out to the construction sites where they belong. It is a long day's work every day for everyone on the floor.
