Balance Designs Inc.

We are tucked away in the Sidco Industrial area in Thirumudivakkam, at plot 143. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city, but this is where all the making happens. Balance Designs is really just a bunch of us working with different materials and trying to get things to look right. The workshop floor is usually a bit messy with scraps and tools, but we know where everything is. It’s not a clean, white-walled studio like you see on TV. There’s dust and the noise of cutting machines most of the day. We drink a lot of tea to stay sharp. The area around here is full of other small factories, so there’s always a truck blocking the road or someone unloading metal pipes. We’ve been at this address for a good stretch, and the building has some character, which is a nice way of saying the windows rattle when a heavy truck goes by. We don't spend much time on marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. Most of our day is spent looking at drawings or measuring things. If something isn't working, we just sit around the table and figure it out together. It’s practical work for practical people. We aren't trying to change the world; we’re just trying to make good stuff here in Thirumudivakkam.
