We have been at E2-3 in the Maraimalal Nagar industrial estate for quite some time now. It gets pretty busy around here, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading into work. Our workshop is right in the heart of the estate, so there is always the sound of machines and people moving things around. We mostly focus on valves, getting them ready and making sure they do what they are supposed to do before they leave the gate. It is not a fancy place, just a regular shop floor with grease on the rags and a lot of metal. The Kanchipuram weather can be a bit much in the afternoon, so we usually take a break when it gets too hot. Most of us have been working together for a while, so we know how the machines sound when they are running right. We do not really do big meetings or anything like that. We just look at the orders for the day and get to it. Sometimes the trucks for the deliveries show up early and we have to scramble a bit. It is hard work, but it keeps us busy. The address is easy to find if you know the industrial area. We just stick to our corner and keep the production going. It is just how things are done here in this part of the district. We usually eat our lunch in the small shed out back because it’s a bit quieter there.
