Afl Pvt Ltd - Warehouse & Logistics Division is down in Chennai, specifically at 64, 2nd Cross Street in Srinivasanagar. We’re in the Chitlapakkam area. The warehouse is a big space with high ceilings and it gets incredibly hot during the summer months. We have rows and rows of racking where we store all kinds of things for different businesses. It’s a lot of moving pallets around with forklifts. You have to be careful walking around because there’s always something being loaded or unloaded. The office part is just a small corner where we keep the inventory logs. We use a lot of clipboards and pens. It’s a dusty environment no matter how much we sweep. Our team is mostly guys who live nearby in Chennai. We know the local roads well, which helps when trucks are trying to find our gate on the narrow streets. Logistics is just about keeping things organized and knowing where every box is hidden. It’s not a glamorous business. We deal with spiders sometimes and the occasional leaky roof when the monsoon hits. We just keep moving things in and moving things out. It’s a lot of physical work and keeping track of numbers on a page. That’s just life at the warehouse. Sometimes we stay late to finish counting stock before the trucks head out again the next morning. We do what we can.
