Ram Kumar Rice Mill

Our mill, Ram Kumar Rice Mill, is located at number 23 on Eswaran Koil Street in Sevoor. We are quite easy to spot since the Raymond Shop is just nearby. Working on Eswaran Koil Street means we see a lot of people going to the temple or just walking through the neighborhood. The mill is a busy place, especially when the farmers bring in their loads. There is always the sound of machinery and the smell of raw rice in the air. It’s a bit of a cramped space with all the equipment and the bags piled up, but we know where everything is. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. We handle everything from the cleaning to the bagging ourselves. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside, which is nice. We don't have any polished sales pitches or anything like that. If someone needs rice, they just come in and ask. Sometimes we have to move the bags around three or four times just to find the right one, but we don't mind the exercise. Most of our day is spent making sure the machines are running right and the bags are filled to the proper mark. It’s a practical, honest job that keeps us busy from morning until the sun goes down.
