Asian International School

Asian International School is over on the Walajabad Chengalpattu Main Road. It’s a pretty straightforward location in the Kanchipuram district. The road can get quite dusty, especially with all the vehicles moving between the towns, but the school itself is a bit of a retreat from that. We have a lot of local staff who come in every morning from Walajabad and nearby villages. The atmosphere is generally quiet until the kids arrive and things get noisy. We don't have a lot of high-end decorations. The walls are mostly covered with student drawings or old charts that have been there for years. We focus on the daily lessons. There’s always someone in the office dealing with fees or checking the attendance books. Kanchipuram is known for its temples and silk, but out here on the main road, life is more about the commute and the school day. We don't bother with fancy mission statements or corporate talk. We just show up and do the job. Sometimes we have to deal with the rain leaking through a door, or the grass in the yard getting too long, but it’s all part of the routine. People in the area know us as a local fixture. We just keep the gates open and the classes running as best as we can, year after year. It’s an honest way to spend the day, even if it gets a bit tiring in the summer.
