Our place is located at 720, Kakkalur Bypass Road, and if you know the area, it’s quite close to the old collector office. Working with seeds means our schedule mostly depends on what time of year it is. When the season is right, the yard gets full of bags and people coming in from the nearby farms. We spend a lot of time moving inventory around and making sure the storage stays dry. The bypass road gets a lot of trucks, so it’s never really quiet around here. It’s just a few of us working here, trying to keep track of what’s coming in and what’s going out. Sometimes the dust gets everywhere, but that is just part of the job when you deal with agricultural stuff. We don’t have a big fancy office, just a desk and some chairs where we handle the paperwork. Most of our day is spent talking to people about what they are planting and seeing if we have what they need in the back. It’s practical work, nothing too complicated, but it takes a lot of patience to get everything right. The weather really affects how busy we are. If it rains, things slow down a bit. We’ve seen the area around the old collector office change quite a bit over the years. It’s a straightforward business and we just focus on getting the seeds to the people who need them. It's basic work but we stay busy.
