Nalbari Maternity Hospital

Over in Khatnalbari, Assam, we run the Nalbari Maternity Hospital. It is a place specifically for mothers and their new babies. Dealing with births and taking care of women is what we do every single day. The hospital is located right in the Khatnalbari area of Nalbari, so it’s easy for families around here to reach us when the time comes. We have been around for a while and seen many families grow over the years. The building is functional. It’s not a luxury place, but we have the beds and the equipment needed for safe deliveries. The nurses and staff are mostly from this part of Assam, so we speak the same language and understand the local ways. It can get very loud with babies crying, but that is just part of the work. We handle prenatal checkups and then the actual births too. Sometimes things are calm and other times it is a real rush. We just take it as it comes. Families often bring us sweets after a baby is born, which is nice. We focus on making sure the moms are okay and the babies are healthy before they head back home. Living and working in Nalbari means we are part of the neighborhood. It’s a serious job but we like being there for the families in Khatnalbari. It’s just what we do at the hospital. We don't have much time for fancy talk, we just keep working.
