Started working out of Varda House a while back. It is on R K Choudhury Road in the Bharalumukh area of Guwahati. Most people around here know the Sluice Gate, which is right by us. If you are coming from Kumarpara, it is pretty easy to find once you get the hang of the one-way streets. The office itself is nothing special to look at. We have our desks, a lot of files piled up, and a tea kettle that probably works too hard. It gets a bit humid in the afternoons, but that is just how things are in this part of town. People drop by for various associate matters. We don't have a big reception area or anything. You just walk in and someone will probably be there at a desk. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at paperwork. Sometimes we go out to meet people or check on things around the city. The traffic on the way to the office can be a real headache, especially during the monsoon when the roads get a bit messy near the river. We have lived with the noise of the street for years now. It is a busy spot, but it feels like home to us. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done. It’s not about being the biggest office in Guwahati, it’s just about being here and doing the work every day.
