Homoeo Health Care Clinic

I started the Homoeo Health Care Clinic here in Kalgachia because there wasn't much else around for people who wanted this kind of care. It’s a basic setup, nothing that’s going to win any design awards. I have a small room where I sit and talk to the people who come in. Most of my day is spent listening to stories about how people are feeling. Kalgachia is a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else, so a lot of the time we end up talking about local news too. The clinic stays pretty busy, especially on market days when everyone is already out and about. I keep the medicine bottles in neat rows on the shelves behind me. I try to keep the place cool, but in the heat of summer, the small fan I have doesn't always do the trick. The floor is made of simple tiles that are easy to sweep. I spend a lot of time cleaning up after a long day. It’s a one-man show for the most part. I don’t have any fancy machines or big computer screens. I prefer using my pen and paper to take notes. It feels more real that way. People come from the surrounding villages sometimes, so I try to be here consistently. If I’m not in the office, I’m usually just nearby. It’s a practical place for folks who need it. I have been doing this for a long time and I plan to stay here in Kalgachia as long as I can keep the doors open.
