Brahmaputra Welfare Foundation

We are based over here in Chhaygaon, right in the Aislam Apartment area of Goroimari. It is just a small setup we have at house number 498. People around here know the Brahmaputra Welfare Foundation mostly because they see us walking around or helping out with whatever pops up in the neighborhood. We started doing this because there was always someone needing a hand with something, maybe it’s filling out a form or just sorting out a local problem that everyone else is too busy to look at. Living and working in the same place makes it easy for folks to just knock on the door when they need us. It gets a bit crowded in the apartment sometimes when we have people coming in and out, but that is how it goes when you are working right in the middle of a busy spot like Goroimari. We don't have a huge team or anything like that. It is just us and a couple of friends who give their time when they can. Usually, the day starts with tea and a look at what needs doing that morning. Some days it is quiet and other days we are running around Chhaygaon all afternoon. We don’t have fancy equipment or a big office, but we have a table and some chairs where we sit and talk through things. It feels right to be doing this right where we live instead of somewhere far away.
