Babu Store

Our little spot is located over in Rukminigaon, specifically on Namghar Path. We are pretty close to R. P. Associates, which most people in Khanapara use as a landmark to find us. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here in Guwahati. The shelves are mostly full of things you’d need on a Tuesday afternoon when you realize you’re out of something basic. I usually sit near the front where the light is better. It gets a bit dusty with the traffic on the main road nearby, but we keep the inside tidy enough. There is always a bit of noise from the street, but you get used to it after a few years. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in. Some days are busier than others, especially when the weather is clear. We keep an eye on the stock and try to write down what we need on a scrap of paper near the till. It’s not a high-tech operation. Just a neighborhood store where you can grab what you need and head home. The Namghar is close by, so we see people heading that way in the evenings. It’s a decent place to be. We’ve known some of the families around here since they were much younger. It’s just us doing our daily work.
