Zikia Research Foundation

The Zikia Research Foundation is located in the Kalapahar area of Guwahati. We are very close to the Kalicharan Nursing Home. Our office is at Nirmal House, which belongs to Nirmal Kaur, in Ward Number 15. The zip code is 781016. Kalapahar is a hilly area, so the air feels a bit different than it does down in the main city. We do research work, but don't expect to see any high-tech labs or people in white coats. It’s mostly just us sitting around tables covered in books and old journals. We spend a lot of time reading and writing notes. It’s a quiet place, which is good because research takes a lot of concentration. We aren't a wealthy organization, so we make do with what we have. Our shelves are full of files and we use old computers that still work well enough. We’ve been part of the Kamrup district for a long time. We don't do any advertising or marketing. People find out about us through the work we produce. Sometimes we have visitors from the nearby nursing home or the neighborhood. We always have a pot of tea going. It’s not a corporate job; it’s more of a personal project that grew over time. We just want to learn more about the things we are studying. It’s slow work, but we find it interesting. That’s pretty much us. Just a few researchers in a house.
