North East Aradhana Foundation

North East Aradhana Foundation is based out of Abdur Rafique’s place in Ward No. 3, Netaji Nagar. That's over in Kharupetia, which is part of Darrang district. It’s a quiet residential area mostly. We aren't some big corporation with a tall building. We just work from where we are. Darrang is a place where everyone kind of knows each other, so news travels fast. We started this foundation because we saw things that could be better around here. It’s mostly just us and a couple of volunteers from the neighborhood. We don't have a lot of fancy paperwork or a complicated way of doing things. We just see a problem and try to help out if we can. Sometimes it's just about giving someone a bit of time or a hand with something. The weather here can be a bit much, especially during the monsoons, but we keep the office open. It’s a simple setup with just the basics. We don't spend money on things we don't need. Most of our time is spent just chatting with locals and figuring out what the actual issues are. It’s a slow process but we don't mind that. We like living here and we like the people we work with every day. It's just us doing what we can with what we have at hand in our small community.
