Dewora General Stores

My family has been running Dewora General Stores on Noonmati Road for quite some time now. Being right here in Guwahati, we see a lot of people coming through every day. Most of our neighbors stop by for their daily needs. It’s not a huge place, but we try to keep the shelves full of the things people actually use. Sometimes the weather gets really humid in Assam, and the shop feels a bit warm, but we’re used to it. We open up pretty early in the morning. People usually want their milk or bread before they head off to work. I spend a lot of my day just chatting with the regulars who live around Noonmati. We know most of the kids who come in for a small snack after school. It’s a simple life here. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Just regular items on regular shelves. The traffic on the road can get loud, especially during the rush hours, but it’s just part of being in this area. Sometimes it's hard to find space for everything we want to stock, so things get a bit crowded inside. But people don't seem to mind. They know where everything is. We just keep doing what we do every day. It’s a lot of lifting boxes and counting change, but it keeps us busy. We like being part of the community here in 781020. It's just home for us.
