Living and working out of Ward No. 5 here in Gandhinagar is just how things are for us. Swajati Infrastructure (N.E.) Privatelimited operates from House No. 574(C) along Sarbananda Path. It is a quiet enough street, but our days are usually anything but quiet. We spend most of our time dealing with the logistics of building things around this part of the country. Being in the Northeast means you have to deal with the rain quite a lot, which can really slow things down when you are trying to move earth or lay bricks. We keep our gear ready and our team together, even when the weather isn't cooperating. There is a lot of back and forth with suppliers and trying to find the right materials for whatever job is on the schedule. Our office on Sarbananda Path is where we sort out the mess of receipts and schedules. It is a regular setup, nothing too fancy. We are just local people who understand how the land is around here. Sometimes we are out late finishing up a section, and other times we are just sitting around the table trying to figure out a better way to handle a tricky corner. We do not use big words to describe what we do. We just show up at the site, get the tools out, and start the day’s work until it is time to go home.
